Trees in Bradenton take a beating. Between the summer storms, the sandy soil that lets roots run sideways instead of down, and the salt air coming off the Gulf, things go wrong faster here than they do up north. We’ve been working yards across Manatee County long enough to know which trees hold up in a hurricane, which ones don’t, and which streets always seem to call us the morning after a storm rolls through.
We work for regular homeowners, landlords, HOAs, and commercial property owners. Whether it’s a trim that’s been put off for two years, a dead pine that needs to come down before it lands on the garage, or a 2 a.m. call after a tree comes through the roof, same crew, same standards.
Free estimates. 24/7 emergency response anywhere in Bradenton.
What We Handle
Tree removal for dead, storm-damaged, diseased, or unstable trees
Tree trimming for limbs hanging over the roof, the pool, the driveway, or your neighbor’s fence
Tree pruning to keep growth balanced and clear of structures
24/7 emergency response for fallen trees and anything that needs to come down right now
Stump grinding with the debris cleaned up, so you actually get your yard back
Every job gets planned around protecting the house, the driveway, the fence, the landscaping, and whatever power lines happen to be in the way.
Signs You Should Call Sooner Rather Than Later
A tree leaning more than it used to, especially if you can see fresh soil cracking around the base
Dead branches, cracked branches, or limbs that look like they’re just resting up there
A crack running down the trunk, or a split where a big limb meets the main stem
Roots lifting your sidewalk, patio, or pushing on the foundation
Branches grown into power lines (don’t touch those, call us or the utility)
An insurance notice, HOA letter, or city citation telling you to deal with it
Stuff in Bradenton goes from “I’ll get to it” to “I needed to get to it last week” fast. If something’s nagging at you, let us come look.
Tree Problems We See a Lot in Bradenton
Laurel oaks past their prime. A ton of laurel oaks got planted in older Bradenton neighborhoods in the 70s and 80s. They grow fast and throw great shade, which is why people loved them. The downside is they only live about 50 to 70 years, and they start hollowing out from the inside well before the outside looks bad. If you’ve got a laurel oak with a hollow at the base, mushrooms popping out of the trunk, or limbs dropping on calm days, get someone out there before hurricane season. Live oaks hold up way better, but the old ones near the Manatee River sometimes have root rot you can’t see.
Palm troubles. Sabal palms and queen palms are everywhere here. Most of the palm problems we see come from over-pruning, those “hurricane cuts” where someone strips off all the green fronds, or Ganoderma butt rot showing up at the base. Fusarium wilt is another one. No cure once a palm has it, and the saw that touched the sick palm can spread it to the next one if it’s not cleaned right.
Limbs loaded up after summer storms. July and August thunderstorms dump rain fast and load wet limbs with a lot more weight than they’re used to. Whatever branch already had a weak spot is the one that goes. We see this constantly in West Bradenton (34209, 34210) and Bayshore Gardens.
Roots in the wrong place. Sandy soil makes roots run sideways. That means lifted sidewalks, cracked driveways, roots under the pool deck. Ficus and laurel oak are the usual culprits.
Salt damage near the water. If you’re close to Anna Maria Sound, Perico Bayou, or anywhere on the Palma Sola side, salt spray browns out trees that can’t handle it. The high water table doesn’t help either.
If you’re not sure whether what you’re looking at is a real problem or just normal Florida weirdness, we’d rather come check it than guess from a photo.
How a Job Usually Goes
We come out and look at the tree, the property, and how we’d actually get equipment in there.
You get a clear price and a real explanation of what we’re doing and why, before anything gets scheduled.
We figure out where the truck goes, where the rigging goes, and when to work so we’re not blocking your driveway all day.
The crew does the work. Climbing, rigging, or a crane if the tree calls for it.
Everything gets hauled off. Wood, branches, debris. Your yard’s left clean.
We walk through it with you before we leave.
What Affects the Price of Tree Services in Bradenton
The honest answer is, it depends on the tree and the property. The stuff that matters most:
How tall it is, how wide the canopy is, how thick the trunk is
How close it is to the house, pool, driveway, fence, or power lines
Whether it’s an emergency or after-hours call
Whether we need a crane, a bucket truck, or special rigging
Whether the city or county wants a permit
How deep you want the stump ground and how much debris is going out
A flat price off a website usually means somebody’s guessing. We’d rather come look and quote you right the first time.
Helpful Local Resources for Bradenton Tree Owners
A quick phone call before tree work can save you a real fine. Rules inside the city are different from rules in unincorporated Manatee County.
City of Bradenton Planning and Zoning (941-932-9400). Call first if you’re inside city limits. Bradenton protects its tree canopy and fines for unpermitted removal can hit $5,000.
City of Bradenton Code Enforcement (941-932-9485). The line for excessive pruning complaints, or to report some random unlicensed crew tearing up trees in your neighborhood.
UF/IFAS Extension Manatee County. Free advice from the University of Florida extension office. They put out solid Florida-specific guides on tree species, pruning timing, and the state tree law. Good place to go if you want a second opinion that isn’t trying to sell you anything.
Florida Statute 163.045. The state law that lets homeowners remove a “dangerous” tree from single-family residential property without a local permit, but only with written documentation from an ISA Certified Arborist or a Florida licensed landscape architect. Skip that paperwork and the city or county can still come after you.
Manatee County Emergency Management. Worth checking before a named storm for prep info and after a storm for debris pickup schedules.
We handle the permit side ourselves on most jobs. That’s part of what you’re paying us for.

FAQs
Do I need a permit to remove a tree in Bradenton? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. If you’re inside Bradenton city limits, call Planning and Zoning at 941-932-9400 before doing anything. If you’re in unincorporated Manatee County, most private yard trees don’t need a permit, but HOA common areas, commercial sites, and conservation areas do. We sort this out during the estimate so the job doesn’t get held up.
Can you come out after a storm? Yes. 24/7 for storm damage, fallen trees, and anything that’s an immediate hazard.
Is stump grinding included when you remove a tree? It’s available, and we recommend it, but it’s priced separately so you can decide on depth and whether you want the grindings hauled away.
How long does the work take? Most residential jobs are done in a day. Big removals, crane jobs, or multiple trees take longer.
Are you insured? Yes. Full liability and worker’s comp. Happy to show you the certificate before we start.
Do you work close to houses and power lines? All the time. Most yards in Bradenton don’t have a lot of room, so close-quarters rigging is most of what we do.

My Florida Tree Guys are super! They deserve ten stars. This a professional company, NOT two guys and a chainsaw. The large oak branch hanging over my roof is gone. The three trees that have been leaning since the last storm are gone. The huge pile of limbs are gone. Our beautiful oak is now gorgeous.
